Anne Fitzgerald appointed as chief of specialty and ancillary operations for Atrius Health and Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates
Newton, MA - Anne Fitzgerald, a Charlestown resident, has been appointed to the leadership position of Chief of Specialty and Ancillary Operations for Atrius Health and Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates in Newton, which includes medical and surgical specialties, radiology, pharmacy, laboratory, dental, and optical departments. In her new role, Fitzgerald will support the Atrius Health mission of making it easier for patients to be healthy by improving access to these services across all Atrius Health practices.
A graduate of Northeastern University with a Masters degree from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, Fitzgerald has served as the chief information officer of Atrius Health and Harvard Vanguard since 2004. She led the roll-out across Atrius Health of a single electronic medical record. Additionally, Fitzgerald was instrumental in collaborating with South Shore Hospital, MEDITECH and Epic in the creation of a new system known as the Community Hospital and Physician Systems (CHAPS). CHAPS allows physicians to receive electronically current information about an Atrius Health patient’s medical history when that patient arrives at the hospital. Fitzgerald has played an integral part in developing and utilizing systems that ensure Atrius Health physicians can deliver a consistently high level of patient care across a large multi-group practice.
Fitzgerald has had an extensive career in the medical industry, having held positions with both the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary as chief information officer as well as at Lahey Hitchcock Clinic as director of applications development.
