In 2005-2006, the company paid physicians in Massacnusetts an extra $18.7 million for providing quality care. It was the company's fifth annual incentive payment.
For adult practitioners, the services measured are generic utilization, mammography, a combination measure of diabetic care, and implementation of an electronic prescribing system, electronic medical records, or an office-based decision support system.
For pediatric practitioners, the measures are generic utilization, well visits for children (ages 2 to 6 years), well visits for adolescents (ages 12 to17 years), and implementation of an electronic prescribing system, electronic medical records, or an office-based decision support system.
