Dr. Carole Allen Elected Vice President of the Massachusetts Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics
Dr. Carole Allen, Arlington resident and Director of Pediatrics for Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, has been elected Vice President of the Massachusetts Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (MCAAP). Dr. Allen's term as Vice President-elect began on July 1, 2006 and will continue through June 2008.
Dr. Allen currently practices pediatrics at the Somerville Harvard Vanguard site and has over 25 years previous practice experience. She had a private pediatric practice in Arlington from 1989 through 2002 and has also been a member of the Arlington Board of Health since 1996, serving as Chairperson from 1997 to 2005. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University and her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Allen continued on to postdoctoral training at Boston City Hospital and New England Medical Center. She was the recipient of the MCAAP's Distinguished Service Award and the Children's Hospital Community Pediatricians Award in 2002, and also received the American Academy of Pediatrics Special Achievement Award in 2003 for her work in tobacco prevention and control. Dr. Allen formerly served in the capacity of District Representative, Secretary and Treasurer of MCAAP.
Dr. Allen is currently a clinical instructor at both Harvard Medical School and Boston University School of Medicine. She is affiliated with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Children's Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital and Mt. Auburn Hospital.
