Reproductive Science Center and Harvard Vanguard collaborate to enhance fertility programs

Reproductive Science Center (RSC), a leader in fertility services and recognized for top success rates, has signed a contract with Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates as its preferred provider for Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) healthcare services, including in vitro fertilization (IVF). The collaboration provides better continuity of care for women seeking to fulfill their goal of becoming mothers, from initial IVF consult and monitoring, through obstetrical care and delivery. For RSC, the contract is likely to increase by about 30 percent the number of IVF cycles or treatments under RSC's care, to more than 2,000 each year when fully implemented, making RSC one of the two largest infertility practices in New England.

As part of the agreement, Harvard Vanguard's reproductive endocrinologists - Dr. Grace Lee, Dr. Mahmood Niaraki, and Dr. Charles Obasiolu - will provide fertility services for their patients at the four locations of the Harvard Vanguard Center for Fertility and Reproductive Health which are based in Boston (Kenmore), Burlington, Quincy and Wellesley. IVF lab procedures and surgeries will be performed at RSC's world renowned embryology facility in Lexington by a combined group of reproductive endocrinologists from both RSC and Harvard Vanguard.

"We're honored to have the opportunity to work with Harvard Vanguard, one of the finest groups of physicians in the country, and to help their patients reach their goals of parenthood," said Patricia McShane, MD, RSC's Medical Director, who has been with RSC for 18 years. She has served as President of the Boston Fertility Society, and she has published and lectured extensively on the subjects of infertility and new reproductive technologies.

"We selected RSC based on a number of quality parameters including rates for pregnancy and multiple births, patient satisfaction and access, as well as its shared commitment to using an electronic medical record to provide efficient and coordinated care," said Robin Richman, MD, Specialty Director of OB/GYN for Harvard Vanguard. "Trying to conceive can be such a stressful time for women, so we are delighted to be collaborating with RSC to provide our patients with convenient access to state-of-the-art assisted reproductive technologies and services."

This collaboration creates an extensive geographical network for fertility patients. RSC has locations across New England including its embryology lab in Lexington, MA as well as offices in Braintree, Cambridge, Gardner, Milford, Peabody and Westboro, MA, and additional offices in Bedford, NH and Providence, RI. Harvard Vanguard has practice locations throughout Boston, as well as Braintree, Burlington, Cambridge, Chelmsford, Concord, Dedham, Harvard, Medford, Norwood, Peabody, Quincy, Somerville, Watertown, Wellesley and West Roxbury.
