| Chief Medical Officer Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates |
|
A few months ago I sent you a letter stating that Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates will not accept Harvard Pilgrim Health Care First Seniority’s Medicare Advantage Plan after December 31, 2006. We are pleased to announce our new affiliation with Tufts Health Plan Medicare Preferred HMO. Beginning January 1, 2007, Tufts Medicare Preferred HMO (formerly known as Secure Horizons) is the only Medicare Advantage plan with which Harvard Vanguard will be associated.
Because you are currently enrolled in First Seniority, this change will affect you. In order to continue receiving your Medicare covered care and services through Harvard Vanguard beginning January 1, 2007 you will need to make a choice. If you would like to continue receiving services through a Medicare Advantage plan affiliated with Harvard Vanguard, you will need to enroll in Tufts Medicare Preferred HMO by December 31, 2006. You will also have the option to switch to Original Medicare and continue to be seen through Harvard Vanguard.
If you choose either of the options mentioned above, you can continue to have access to our complete delivery system including our physicians, affiliated hospitals and other providers as well as our on-site pharmacies. We encourage you to make your choice for 2007 early.
