Atrius Health Appoints Dr. Zeev Neuwirth Chief of Clinical Effectiveness & Innovation
Newton, MA (February 10, 2008) - Atrius Health, an alliance of five nonprofit multi-specialty medical groups with practice sites throughout eastern Massachusetts, is pleased to announce that Dr. Zeev Neuwirth has been promoted to Chief of Clinical Effectiveness & Innovation.

Dr. Neuwirth joined Harvard Vanguard in June 2005 as Chief of Internal Medicine at its Kenmore site and became Vice President of Clinical Effectiveness and Innovation in January 2007. Over the past two years Dr. Neuwirth led an initiative, with support from Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA, to transform health care delivery. Specific efforts included improvements to health outcomes and to visit efficiency for physicians and staff, initiating the Health Management Resources (HMR) weight loss program at the Kenmore and Chelmsford practices, launching over 20 weekly shared medical appointments (SMAs) in five different specialties at five different sites, and initiating and managing a leadership academy for clinicians and managers.
In his new role, Dr. Neuwirth will continue to play a key role in expanding Atrius Health’s efforts to develop and implement innovations in health care delivery such as in its shared medical appointments program, patient-centered medical home project, process and quality improvement, and leadership development.
Dr. Neuwirth holds a bachelor’s degree from Tufts University and a medical degree from University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. In 2005, he received a master’s degree in Health Care Management from the Harvard School of Public Health. In addition to his medical training, he is a certified family and group therapist.
Dr. Neuwirth and his family live in Brookline, Mass.
