Invisalign
As part of a comprehensive approach to improve patients’ smiles and the appearance of their teeth, Harvard Vanguard now offers the Invisalign method of orthodontic treatment at all Harvard Vanguard Dental Practices.
Invisalign uses a series of individually made, clear plastic aligners that are changed every 2 weeks as the teeth move into the desired position. This method is preferable to the use of traditional metal or plastic braces, which can be unsightly and often irritate the inside of the mouth. The aligners are worn day and night, but are removed when eating and to brush the teeth, or for social occasions.
The Invisalign treatment takes up to a year to complete. During this time, the patient returns for check-up visits every 4-8 weeks. Not all crooked, crowded teeth or misaligned bites can be treated this way, but in the right situation Invisalign can be an attractive alternative to braces.
