In addition to my Doctorate in Optometry, I have a PhD in Psychology from Brown Univerisity where I studied color vision science and perception. I have completed five marathons, including the 100th Boston Marathon. I live with my husband Stephen and our three parrots, Chi Chi, Mango and Lestat Kiki, and I regularly volunteer at a local parrot sanctuary and rescue (www.fosterparrots.com). I am also very active in gay and lesbian causes.
