Welcome to Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates. We are pleased that you've chosen us for your medical care. With a focus on prevention, Harvard Vanguard's outstanding physicians, nurses, physician assistants and medical teams work together in internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, and more than 35 specialties to effectively coordinate your care. Our goal is to offer "complete care made easy."
Our more than 20 convenient locations offer radiology, laboratory and pharmacy services on-site. In addition, several offer weekend urgent care hours and 24/7 medical advice. For those times when hospital services are required, our providers are affiliated with leading teaching and community hospitals. All Harvard Vanguard clinicians are linked by a state-of-the-art electronic medical record system so your medical information is available no matter which practice you choose for your care.
If you have not already done so, we encourage you to select a primary care physician and schedule an appointment. Your primary care physician, working with a team of medical professionals, will handle your regular checkups, provide care when you are sick, help coordinate your specialty medical care, and look after your overall health. Together you and your primary care physician can begin building a relationship to support your good health.

Primary Care
Primary care is where it all begins. If you are looking to maintain a healthy lifestyle, are experiencing a minor health problem, or are suffering from an acute or chronic physical issue, our primary care physicians are there to support you every step of the way. Coordination and continuity of care is extremely important and therefore our medical teams will work with you to provide the care you need that works for you. Our primary care physicians possess a wide breadth of knowledge in many areas and can collaborate with others to ensure quality care. Collaboration among providers plays a big role in primary care. Pediatric Care
Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates offers high quality, personalized pediatric care. Our pediatricians believe that every child is special. Their goal is to care for the whole child and work to earn the trust of the child's parents or caregivers. Our pediatricians assess your child's health care needs, provide health education, and offer resources and support as your child grows and develops throughout the years. Obstetric & Gynecologic Care
At Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, we are committed to making it easier for women to be and stay healthy through every stage of life. Our physicians, nurse midwives, and medical teams provide complete obstetric and gynecologic care for women from adolescence through post-menopause. In addition, we offer OB/GYN specialty care including: menopause consultation services, urogynecology services, vulvovaginal services, minimally invasive surgery, fertility and reproductive health services, nurse midwifery, and maternal fetal medicine.
Specialty Care
In most cases your primary care team will provide you with the health care services you need. But there may be times when you need to see a specialist. Harvard Vanguard offers many medical and surgical specialties to meet your health care needs. We recommend that you discuss your need for specialty care with your primary care physician.
Our primary care physicians have thoughtfully selected a preferred group of specialists, typically within Harvard Vanguard or a limited group of outside offices that they trust to provide you with high quality care. Your primary care physician works with this trusted group of specialists to coordinate your care using the established relationships and systems. Coordinating your care in this way ensures that your medications, labs, other test results and clinical notes are most easily seen by your treating physicians. This integrated approach has been proven important to overall care.
Online Access to your Physician
Harvard Vanguard is pleased to offer MyHealth Online, a highly secure, web-based program that allows you to contact your physician's office about non-urgent medical matters at your convenience. You can communicate with your physician, request a non-urgent appointment, review portions of your medical record, renew prescriptions, access lab results, and get copies of school and camp forms. Weekend and Holiday Care
All Harvard Vanguard patients have access to adult and pediatric weekend and holiday urgent care at regionally located practices. Unless it is a life-threatening emergency (in which case you should call 911), you can use our weekend and holiday urgent care hours for most health-related situations. If you feel you need to be seen by a doctor, call your doctor's office, as it is possible there is a same day appointment available for you. If it is after regular office hours, or on a weekend or holiday, you should still call your doctor's office. If your doctor's office does not offer weekend and holiday urgent care hours, your call will be automatically directed to one of our regional practices that does. After Hours Medical Advice
Medical advice is available to you by telephone 24 hours a day. After office hours, please call your doctor's office when you need medical advice unless it is a 911 emergency. Your call will automatically be routed to our after-hours clinical triage service staffed by nurse practitioners and physician assistants. They will provide medical advice, schedule you for an appointment at our offices, or refer you to the preferred emergency room if needed. With access to our electronic medical record (EMR) system, you can be sure that your most recent medical information has been referenced in the advice or information that you receive.
