Hooray for you! You're ready to quit smoking.

The benefits of quitting are real, and quitting is the most important thing you can do for your health.

Getting started:

  • You may want to make an appointment with your doctor to discuss medications that may help you quit.
  • Think about your concerns with quitting – and discuss them openly with your doctor or with a Quitworks counselor.
  • Think about your reasons for quitting – reminding yourself of these reasons when times get tough can help you stick with it.
  • Your doctor can refer you to a program called Quitworks – or you may sign up for Quitworks on your own. This program is free for residents of Massachusetts and designed to provide support for people who want to quit smoking.
